  • Summary
I am the Hazard Mitigation Strategist with King County Emergency Management. I work with my team, county agencies, and local, state, and federal partners to identify opportunities to reduce risk and build resilience in our county and state.

In mitigation, the focus is on establishing a foundation of resilience that can prevent catastrophe and help a community always have the minimum capabilities it needs to recover after a disaster. We also focus on equity and social justice, specifically on how investments in communities more likely to suffer losses in a disaster and more likely to recover slowly after can reduce the recovery gap and can help even address inequity today by investing in better performing, newer infrastructure where it is most needed.
  • Highlights
Presented at FEMA Mitigation Stakeholder Workshop (2019) and Natural Hazards Workshop (2018) as well as to numerous local and state organizations.

Wrote the Washington State Enhanced Hazard Mitigation Plan and the King County Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan

Helped develop and implement hazard mitigation programs for Washington State and King County, helping to greatly increase the success rate of annual mitigation grant applications.

Served as Supply Branch Director for the COVID 19 response in King County

Nominated for a countywide award for work in the hazard mitigation plan to prioritize infrastructure investments in areas with greater population vulnerability.
