Preparation and Content
Lauren was extremely well prepared. She drew on her background and experience in the emergency management field for this presentation for an executive group of emergency managers. She provided a lot of detailed information such as noting that by 2050 disasters will cost the nation $23B.
Presentation and Delivery
Her presentation covered four main topic areas: 1. Academic Primer: Complexity and the Need for Networks, 2. Interpersonal Skills: Network and Partnership Building, 3. Organizational Skill: Robust Risk Cultures and 4. Organizational Assessment: Risk Maturity. She used fantastic visuals that really highlighted her points and didn't just involve a wall of text. Her key points included the fact that without management of disasters there is chaos and how connected organizations outperform stovepiped organizations.
