    Cg Garrard is an accomplished consultant with nearly 20 years of experience in emergency management who also happens to have a disability. She has worked with all levels of government—federal, state, and local—as well as engaging local communities and private-sector partners in emergency planning and resilience efforts. Garrard excels at building relationships with stakeholders and engaging in productive discussion on inclusion, equity, diversity, and anti-racism in emergency management planning and operations. Garrard earned a master’s degree in hazards geography from the University of South Carolina, where she worked at the Hazards and Vulnerability Research Institute and conducted her thesis research on vulnerability, risk, and resilience to hazards. She has worked with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, U.S. Agency for International Development, U.S. Department of Transportation, Missouri State Emergency Management Agency, Georgia Emergency Management Agency, both state and local Georgia Public Health, universities, nonprofits, and private businesses. Garrard conducts business with the support of her service dog and “Chief Barketing Officer,” Wynona Earp.
